The Genesis Narrative: A Journey from Darkness to Creation

In the beginning of creation, God saw that the world was without form and void; darkness enveloped the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved over the waters. Then, God spoke, "Let there be light!" And there/thus there was light. God saw that the light was good, and He distinguished it from the darkness. God designated the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And so/indeed was an evening and a morning, the first day.

On the second day, God extended the expanse to distinguish the waters from the waters. On the third day, He collected the waters into one place, and the dry earth appeared. And God observed that it was good. Then God caused plants of all kinds to grow on the land—grass, shrubs, bearing fruit with seed, and trees producing fruit according to their kinds. And God recognized that it was good.

And thus, from light to land, God’s creative act unfolded in a majestic and wondrous display.
